    Lost Lake Parent Meeting

    Tuesday, May 11, 2021

    6:00 pm

    Colville Tribal members and Descendants:

HB 1356 was signed into law by Governor Inslee, which prohibits the inappropriate use of Native American names, symbols, or images as public school mascots, logos, or team names. Recently representatives from the Colville School District and Moses Lake School District contacted the Colville Business Council to engage in consultation as the nearest Tribe determines to authorize the use of the name, symbol, or image as a school mascot, logo, or team name provided.

The CCT Employment & Education division devised survey  to compile feedback about the issue at the following link:

The survey can be completed in approximately three minutes or less.

A comprehensive summary of the survey results will be shared with the Colville Business Council at an upcoming Employment & Education Committee meeting.

Please contact the Youth Development Program at 509-634-2469 if you require a hard copy of the survey. You may submit hard copies to the Omak, Inchelium or Keller Community Center or the Lucy Covington Government Center during business hours.
